"Many people in the community do not know all the services we offer," said Minners in a release last week. "Hopefully this will better connect them all." Logo Featuring an updated "Star Buck," the new logo not only has the names of each organization in the MCHS, but lists the names in a color coated manor. Minners explained during the presentation that each color represents various sub-meanings important to the care of each facility. The purple in the Minnewaska Lutheran Home represents dignity and royalty. The color is uplifting, calming to the mind and nerves, offers a sense of spirituality, and encourages creativity. The blue in the Minnewaska Home Care is peaceful and calming. The color represents cooling and aids intuition. The green in the Minnewaska Therapy Services is renewed energy. It represents soothing, realizing mentally as well as physically, helps alleviate depression, nervousness and anxiety, as well as offers a sense of renewal, self control and harmony. The gold in the Holly Ridge Manor Assisted Living, represents memory. It signifies mentally stimulating, activates memory and encourages communication. But the subtle intricacies of the new MCHS logo doesn't stop merely with the colors and the new buck. It includes the circle in the sky which is protective and infinite, and the curved line implies future growth and vision, as well as partnership. The new and former logo can be seen above. Fund-raising dinner The first fund-raising dinner for MCHS was not only a time to unveil the new logo and name, but was a way to help raise money for a new van for residents of Holly Ridge and Minnewaska Lutheran Home. The event featured a meal and live entertainment at the Starbuck Community Center on August 16. Minners said MCHS appreciates the "overwhelming response from the community," and the generous donations of people even after they attended the event. She said the organization raised over $9,000 to put towards the purchase of the new van. All of the proceeds of the event went towards the cause. |
