She began work at the second-year school on Nov. 10 and said she appreciates how helpful and friendly the staff has been since her arrival. In addition, she said the student body has been very friendly and welcoming since she came to the school last week.

Mathias, who has two children currently in college, said she hopes to continue to keep GHES involved in the community and in turn, the community involved in the school. She said she hopes to finish the year on a high note, and keep the positive attitude and atmosphere at the school continuing.
