The school board election will be part of the annual meeting the school will hold on February 9 at Glacial Hills Elementary School. All parents of students, staff and volunteers at the school who meet certain criteria, can vote in the school board election at the annual meeting.

Though the board is currently made up of six parents and community members, as well as one teacher, only one board position will reportedly be up for election this year, as the board will plan to phase in the terms of each seat. Other board seats will either be up for election in future years, or eventually be awarded to teachers and staff who will continue to make up a portion of the seven-person board.

To help inform parents and staff about the people who are seeking a school board seat, 15 days prior to the election notification will be sent to those who can vote in the election to inform them of who is running for the open school board spot, according to the school by-laws. The notification may even include some biographical information to inform voters about the people who are seeking election.

In addition to the election at the annual meeting, the board discussed a variety of activities and demonstrations for parents who attend.

More information about the annual meeting can be found in an upcoming issues of the Times.
