Utilities provided by the city will be increased beginning second quarter. Action was taken by the city council to increase water and sewer rates by $2.50 each. That will result in a $5.00 increase for the total. Engebretson and Sons had already notified the city they would be increasing rates from $49.50 to $50.70 starting in April.

It was also felt the fire contracts should remain at $3,100. Earlier there had been discussion for the need to increase these contracts but at this time it was felt best to leave the same.

In other business:

• Agreed to a seasonal contract with Ottertail Power for a light at Donut Lake for ice skating at $17.60 a month.
• Received a report from Thein Well submitted by Allan Rutter.
• Discussed the Neighborhood Watch. A survey had been put in place and will be sent out with the utility bills at the end of the month. Residents are urged to respond to this survey so the city can take the next step if it is the desire that a majority of residents become involved.
