Scouts in town to fish and to serve the community meals

Kids will (hopefully!) be reeling in lots of fish for the largest fish contest. Winners will receive bragging rights and savings bonds - $100 for first place and $50 for second place winners in several age categories. Along with ice fishing, the Scouts are also inviting the community to several meals. Saturday night, local Boy Scouts are hosting a spaghetti feed at Minnewaska Area High School, and Sunday morning, local Girl Scouts will prepare and serve a pancake breakfast at the Glenwood Senior Center. Meal details are listed below. Although it's still a little early to accurately forecast the weekend weather, the National Weather Service forecasts a slight chance of rain and snow with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 34 on Saturday, and partly sunny on Sunday with a high near 29. In case of extreme weather conditions, local radio and TV stations will advise Scouts of the fishing derby status. |
