Capper Insurance was located in the White Bear Insurance Building in Starbuck

On April 1, Kurt and Lara Amundson of Minnewaska Insurance and Real Estate finalized an agreement to purchase Capper Insurance Agency from long-time insurance salesman Curt Capper.

Citing a desire to move closer to his hometown in Iowa, Capper said the deal includes only his independent insurance company, Capper Insurance Agency-not White Bear Lake Insurance or the building where Capper's insurance company has been renting office space for the past 16-years. Capper said White Bear Lake Insurance, which is separate from his independent company, "will still be in business and operate as usual."

With Capper looking to start a new chapter in his life, Lara Amundson said the acquisition of Capper Insurance Agency gave Minnewaska Insurance and Real Estate an opportunity to expand their business. She said the acquisition is meant as a way to increase their company's offerings and customer base.

All of the policies operated by Capper Insurance Agency were officially transferred to Minnewaska Insurance and Real Estate on April 1.
