Rural Glenwood family wins $5000The Wilson family, of rural Glenwood, recently won the ABC Extreme Home Makeover American Dream Edition Contest. Bob and Kristi Wilson, local foster parents, entered the online contest through the local ABC affiliate KSAX-TV and won the $5,000 prize. Wilson told KSAX-TV that the money will be used to pay some bills and fix up their home. In addition to news of her family's prize, Wilson was also asked to select a local charity that would receive $5,000, as well. They chose Someplace Safe of Pope County. "Someplace Safe Pope County is very grateful to Kristi and Bob Wilson for thinking of us when applying for Extreme Home Makeover American Dream Edition," said Someplace Safe Advocate Diane Kittelson. "It means a lot knowing that they felt the services we provide are important to the community and deserving of this. We cannot thank them enough." |
