Fargo Man Arrested After High Speed Chase

A Minnesota State Trooper picked up the chase in the area between Villard and Westport, heading west on Highway 28. Speeds during the chase reportedly topped 120 miles per hour.

While the chase continued westbound into Glenwood, Johnson's tires were damaged by Stop Sticks set up by a State Trooper and Glenwood Police Officer.

The vehicle continued on to North Lakeshore Drive with flat tires where Johnson struck a pedestrian, drove up into a yard in the area of Golf Course Road and fled on foot.

The pedestrian was slightly injured and did not require medical attention, according to authorities.

Two passengers in Johnson's vehicle - Rita Guy, 24, and Beau Johnson, 24, both of Fargo, surrendered at the scene and were taken into custody.

Law enforcement continued searching the area for Johnson until 12:45 a.m. but he was not located.

Then, at 6 a.m. Friday, Glenwood Police and Pope County Sheriff's deputies found Johnson walking south on Highway 104 near Glenwood.

Johnson faces charges of fleeing a peace officer, hit and run, and various other charges. He is currently in Todd County Jail.

Several agencies participated in the chase and search, including: Osakis and Glenwood Police Departments, Minnesota State Patrol, Pope County Sheriff's Office and West Central SWAT.
