Starbuck man charged with two controlled substance crimes


Dustin Dean Taylor, 24, Starbuck, has been charged with two counts of controlled substance crimes after a search warrant executed at 725 John St. in Starbuck turned up an undisclosed amount of narcotics.

According to a release from the Pope County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed on October 6 at approximately 5:25 p.m. on John St. in Starbuck. The search warrant and subsequent arrest stemmed from an investigation by the West Central Narcotics Drug Task Force that assists Pope County Law Enforcement in these types of cases.

Taylor was arraigned in Pope County District Court on October 8, on one count of controlled substance crime in the third degree for possession of cocaine over three grams and one count of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree for possession of cocaine.

Assisting in the execution of the search warrant was the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Drug Task Force, Pope County Sheriff's Office, Starbuck Police Department and West Central SWAT. The Starbuck Fire Department was also called to assist later in the call.
