Klobuchar said her Main Street Tour in southwestern and western Minnesota includes business meetings and tours at Schwan Food Company in Marshall, Jennie-O in Willmar, Solar Skies (a solar energy manufacturing company) in Starbuck and POET Biorefining (an ethanol plant) in Bingham Lake. She is also reviewing renewable energy projects at the University of Minnesota in Morris. She will also provide updates on the new Farm Bill and meet informally with area residents at local cafes. Klobuchar noted that economic challenges and opportunities facing Minnesotans are a particular focus of her Main Street Tour. “Rising costs for health care, energy and other essentials are putting a tremendous strain on businesses and families,” said Klobuchar. In the Senate, Klobuchar serves on the Agriculture, Commerce and Environment committees. She also serves on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee, which is responsible for researching current economic conditions and recommending policy reforms to strengthen economic prosperity. Starbuck visitKlobuchar will visit Starbuck’s SolarSkies on Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. It will be one of six stops for the Senator on the day. She wil also be visiting Kandiyohi, Stevens, Traverse, Grant, and Douglas Counties Thursday. |
