"Anyone is welcome, the more the merrier," said Yorkovich.

The first star watching will be held on August 2 at Glacial Lakes State Park. The plan is to hold a number of "Star Parties,' throughout the summer and fall months.

There is no equipment necessary and there is no charge or cost for attending the event. The goal is  simply to have a good time while learning about what lies in the skies above.

"We’re there to educate and answer questions," said Yorkovich.

The August 2 event will begin shortly after dark, which according to the GLASS Web site, is scheduled for 8:48 p.m. Set up will begin approximately 30 minutes beforehand. Anyone who is interested can either show up that night or check out GLASS online at www. glaciallakesastro.110mb.com.
