Taylor ordained as new pastor at July 20 service

Since being installed as the newest pastor for the CrossWind Parish, Sarah Taylor has been busy getting to know the community and surrounding area. After graduating from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C., in May, Taylor answered the call to CrossWind to join Pastor Paul Johnson who joined the four-point parish last fall.

Though never living in lake country before, Taylor said she not only enjoys the lake area but being able to get where she needs to be on foot.

"I love to be able to walk around town and get wherever I need to go," she said.

The Ohio native, who also has a twin who is a youth director for a church in Ohio, first began to contemplate becoming a pastor after helping run a day camp in Ohio. She helped run the day camps for three summers while in college, "and really it was out of that my sense of a call developed," she said.

Just 2 1/2 weeks after being installed Taylor has enjoyed her time as part of each of the four churches that make up CrossWind Parish (the four churches include: Fron Lutheran, St. John’s Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran and Indherred Lutheran) and is looking forward to her future within the parish.
