Friends of Glacial Lakes State Park to sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt with great prizes
Come commune with nature and enjoy a spring tradition. Please join the Friends of Glacial Lakes State Park for our first Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at 2 PM. Face painting will be available starting at 1:30PM. Children will be divided into three age groups: preschool and younger, Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and 4th grade though 6th grade. Children in each age group will have a set time and place to collect eggs. After that time is up, eggs can be collected any where by any age child. For each age group, numerous prize eggs will be hidden along with the candy and trinket filled eggs. Prizes will include Arrowwood Water Park tickets, fishing poles, outdoor toys and books, and lifejackets. The hunt will be followed by free hot cocoa, cookies and a campfire. The new four season cabins will also be open for families to walk through and explore. The cabins make family camping simple with no set up or take down. Come see for yourself! Minnesota State Park passes will be required for each car entering the park. Passes will be available at the park office and cost $5 for a day pass or $25 for an annual pass. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early (before 1:30PM) so you have time to get park passes and locate the appropriate egg hunt area for your children. Each child will need to have their own basket, bag or bucket for collecting eggs. Glacial Lakes State park is located five miles south of Starbuck. From the town of Starbuck, go 3 miles south on Highway 29, then 2 miles south on County Road 41. The Friends Group welcomes you for an afternoon outdoors on Saturday, April 3, 2010. |
