Glacial Lakes State Park to feature Stand Up Paddleboarding on June 25th

Lori Plante will present stand up paddleboarding on June 25that 12:00pm at Glacial Lakes State Park.  Surfing in Minnesota? You bet! Try stand-up paddle boarding. We will provide you with a board, a paddle and all of the instruction you’ll need to begin navigating some of the most scenic lakes around. Bring your own lifejacket if you have one, otherwise we will have some on
hand for you to use.  Call the park at 320-239-2860 to register and reserve a board.

This program is part of the “Outdoors EXTRA!” series that aims to get more people outdoors – especially families with young children – by offering new things to see and do at Minnesota state parks, trails and recreation areas this summer. More than 60 events will feature musicians, storytellers, craftsmen, and outdoor skill-building experts between now and Oct. 29.

These events are free, but a vehicle permit is necessary to enter Minnesota state parks and recreation areas. Permits ($5 for one day or $25 for unlimited visits year-round) can be purchased at the parks.

Made possible with funding from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, the Outdoors EXTRA! series aims to connect people to the outdoors, especially those who haven’t been to Minnesota state parks or trails before, or those who haven’t visited in awhile.
