Two Cyrus residents charged with controlled substance crimesKellie Ann Wolff, 28, Cyrus; and David Brian Brustuen, 39, Cyrus, have been charged with controlled substance crimes after an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, a scale, and packaging equipment was recently discovered at Wolff's residence in Cyrus. According to a press release from the Pope County Sheriff's Office, Wolff was arrested by the Stevens County Sheriff's Office on June 9 in Morris. Wolff was charged with 5th degree controlled substance crimes. Following the arrest, agents from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, West Central MN Narcotics Task Force and the Pope County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Wolff's residence in Cyrus. The agents subsequently located more methamphetamine, a scale and packaging equipment. Brustuen was arrested at the scene of the crime, and was charged with 5th degree controlled substance crimes. According to the release, Wolff has been charged with 2nd degree controlled substance crimes and faces up to 25 years in jail and a fine of up to $500,000. Brustuen has been charged with 5th degree controlled substance crimes and faces up to five years in jail and a fine up to $10,000. The case remains under investigation and more charges could be possible. |
