Starbuck Times Editor Chad Koenen has left his position with the newspaper as he ventures into an opportunity to publish the Citizens Advocate in Henning, Minn. As he packed up his office last week, he said, "Leaving the Starbuck area was a difficult decision to make. I have enjoyed the past three years working at the Starbuck Times and will look forward to continuing the friendships I have made, in the future." Times Publisher Tim Douglass said, "We were sorry to see Chad go, but he is pursuing something he has wanted to do and we wish him well in his new endeavor. He has done a great job for the newspaper and the community and he will be missed." Former Pope County Tribune News Editor Amy Chaffins will take over as the editor of the Starbuck Times. She started August 24. Chaffins worked as a reporter for the Starbuck Times from December of 2003 through March of 2005 before her move to the Tribune. "I'm excited to work in the Starbuck community again," she said. "This town has always been very welcoming to me. Plus, you all have some fantastic story ideas - please call or e-mail me if you have a story idea for the newspaper." Douglass said, "It is great to have an experienced journalist like Amy Chaffins willing to step in and take over as editor of the Starbuck Times. Amy has been a dedicated news editor for both the Tribune and the Times and I know she will continue putting out a top quality weekly newspaper for our dedicated readers." Douglass added, "Every community should have it's own newspaper and with community support, we are dedicated to continuing the Times as an independent newspaper for many years. As always, we thank our readers and our advertisers for helping us continue to publish a top quality newspaper in Starbuck."
