Just a few items to pass along regarding upcoming events:

Today, from 5-6:0p.m. will be the Chamber After Hours open houses at Twelve Dozen, The Valley Troll, and Curves. All three businesses will host an open house and door prizes! Refreshments and snacks will be served. Immediately following (6-6:30 p.m.) the Chamber will host a discussion forum regarding the 2010 Holiday Season, with discussions about decorating, open houses, and promotions.
TomorrowTuesday, October 28th, join the Chamber in congratulating Casey's General Store as the October Chamber Member of the Month! Casey's will be serving cake and refreshments beginning at 2:00 p.m. and will host an open house from 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday, October 27th, the Chamber office may be closed due to leadership training out of town.
Thursday, October 28th, from 2-7 p.m. the Chamber, downtown retailer/businesses, and area crafters and part-time home specialty consultants will participate in Ladies' Night Out Costume Party. The Chamber will assist with the area crafters and consultants in their displays in our hallways and our office will remain open until 7 p.m. also! Please note the change in location since the flyers were printed: Other Vendors are located in the halls outside of the Chamber office instead of the Village! Punch cards and flyers are available at the Chamber office as well as inserted into this weeks Pope County Tribune!
Sunday, October 31, Central Square could still use some assistance with the Community Halloween Party, which will run from 5-7 p.m. Set-up will take place prior to the event, people to run the registration, prizes, and games, as well as people to help tear down and clean up - any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Contact  Central Square if you are willing to volunteer (634-0400).
Next week, Tuesday, November 2, is election day! Don't forget to get out and vote for your choice of candidates - from Governor all the way through the State/Federal/County offices as well as the local races. This week's Pope County Tribune and Starbuck Times have candidate pictures and questionnaires in for people to review prior to the election to better get to know the candidates. There are also a number of links through the League of Women Voters, Secretary of State, and other websites that contain information on the major candidates for the state/federal races. If you wish to receive these links, please let me know and I can certainly send them out to you!
As always, attached are flyers from other Chamber members with information to be shared with our membership. This week, the Pope County Museum and Historical Society have sent us their flyer relating to their open house! If you have information you would like to share, please email us your information and we will be happy to include it in an email message to the membership!
Have a great week and talk to everyone soon!
