Please take some time to consider the following meetings
These meetings have been planned for the month of January which we anticipate will have a strong impact on the upcoming years events, promotions, and planning for our local area! If the meeting topics and focus interest you and you can attend the meetings or if you just have suggestions or ideas to contribute but don't wish to or simply cannot attend the meetings - please reply to this email and let us know! To date, we have the following meetings planned for the month of January:
* Pope County Spring Expo: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 12-1 p.m. at the Glenwood Chamber office. This meeting will be the first brainstorming session to begin planning for our upcoming Pope County Spring Expo! We will plan to discuss the focus of the expo, likely participants, dates & locations, venue, and other activities that may be included, etc. We will also attempt to set the regular meeting schedule that best suits this group. Business members, tourism attractions, service organizations, and the general public are encouraged to attend and provide input! * Glenwood Business Promotional Planning Meeting: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 6-7:30 at Cafe Bella. This meeting will be a brainstorming session to begin planning coordinated promotions, marketing, and local efforts that affect our businesses. Some items that may be covered will include: Seasonal promotions, Legacy Destination Weekend, Sports & Travel Shows, Summer Promotional Kick-off, Waterama, the Magical Christmas promotions for 2011, etc.. We will also attempt to set a regular meeting schedule that best suits this group. Business members and the general public are encouraged to attend and provide input! * Pope County Organizational Effectiveness Meeting: Wednesday, January 19, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at the Glenwood Chamber office. This meeting will be the first of several for our local non-profit and service organizations to focus on discussions including such topics as: What are your organizations currently working on, who are the main contacts and what are their roles, what are the mission statements and focus of the organizations, fundraising and/or event efforts that are planned (or in the process of being planned), dates of events, marketing and promotional efforts, and collaboration amongst the various organizations. We will also attempt to set a regular meeting schedule that best suits this group. Through collaboration, communication, and proper planning, we can all do a better job for not only our organizations, but also for the local communities that we serve. Organizational representatives, business members, and the general public are encouraged to attend and provide input!
Again, please take some time to consider whether you, or someone you know, would be interested in attending one or more of these meetings and feel free to forward this information on to your employees, friends and family, membership, or other distribution lists that you may have access to. Also remember that if these particular dates/times do not fit your schedule, you can still contact the Chamber office prior to the meeting to let me know what dates/times work best for you so that it can be taken into consideration for future meeting schedules that are anticipated to be set! 2011 could be the year that we make the biggest difference in our local economy, promotions and events, and our communities - but it takes teamwork, planning, and active participants to make it happen! I look forward to your replies and participation and to the upcoming year! Scott
