Lend A Hand  -  Help the move

The Pope County Humane Society is seeking some volunteers with the first stage of moving to their new location for CATS Thrift Shop. I received a telephone call today asking for volunteers to help with the first round of transferring shelving and supplies from the current location at Central Square to the new location near Pamida. Specifically, Rose Ann is looking for at least 2-3 volunteers that have access to trucks (preferably covered trucks since the weather is looking like a lot of rain) sometime this week to begin moving the shelving and supplies. The entire move will take place in various shifts/stages, but they would like the initial move to be this week sometime so that they can begin to pack up merchandise to go on to the shelving this weekend. Do we have some volunteers that are willing/able to help out? If so, please let me know what days/times we are available so that we can help them out!

Office Update

Anne is now fully trained and working on her own when necessary, which is a big help as we are now able to be open 5 days a week. I am here Monday through Thursday and Anne is here Tuesday through Friday. We both work 8 - 4. It was a very busy holiday season with donations coming in to make every one's Christmas a little brighter. What a reminder of how rewarding this job is when someone comes in and begins to cry because they can receive a scarf, mittens or quilt for Christmas. We also had wonderful donations of toys so we got those out to families.
