St. John's Lutheran Church near Starbuck, MN host discussion about LCMC
LCMC Forum on Sunday, January 17th at 2:00pm about 50 people from eleven congregations gathered at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck. It was an informational forum on LCMC – Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. Mrs. Anne Gran, of Garfield, who is on the LCMC Board of Trustees was the presenter. She was assisted by her husband Pastor David Gran of St. Lukes in Garfield and St. Petri of rural Brandan-Evansville.
Pastor Sarah Taylor of CrossWind Lutheran Parish started the session by reading Psalm 46 and prayer. Then Anne and Pastor Dave explained that LCMC is Lutheran by confession, congregational in structure and free for mission in Christ. Their ten point presentation covered the benefits for pastors, benefits for your church, freedom in Christ, accountable to one another, rooted and grounded in scriptures and Lutheran confession working to fulfill the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations.
Then they answered questions for another hour.
