Winter finally arrived. 2012 Waterama Vice Commodore Jodi McGinty and son, Mason, tested the ice last week and it is ready for this year's Polar Plunge, a highlight of Glenwood's Winterama activities on Feb.11. The Polar Plunge attracts a great crowd and a lot of jumpers who brave the elements and take a plunge into the icy-cold waters of Lake Minnewaska. The activity helps raise funds for the annual Waterama celebration held each July in Glenwood. McGinty said she is still looking for volunteers to take "the plunge" and sponsors to financially support those brave jumpers.
