From the Glenwood Herald, May 27, 1910

Green Street has been receiving a great deal of attention lately and the result will be one of the finest streets in Glenwood.  Trees have been planted along the north side of the street and boulevards are being laid out on both sides.  The embankment along the south side has been trimmed off and has been given the same slant along the whole length of the street.  When the grass begins to grow where the improvements have been made it will present a very attractive appearance.
There is quite a boom on at present on the west shore of Scandinavian Lake in Gilchrist.  Peter T. Peterson and Tobias Tofson are each erecting buildings that will be used as general stores.  Anderson and Boe are starting a confectionery store and Chas. C. Anderson of Benson is building a new cottage.
O.L. Hoff was over in Reno on Monday and brought back a load of hardwood timbers from the Wm. Bennett saw mill.  Mr. Hoff will build an addition to his barn this summer.
All our [Nora] carpenters are now very busy.  C.J. Hauglie has just completed an addition to his own dwelling and is now in Kensington repairing R. Osterberg's residence.  Bakken Bros. have Olaf Brandvold's barn and an 18x28 two-story residence for John Erikson under construction.  Knute Larson is to build C. Hagen's barn and also an addition to L. Olson's dwelling house.
A class of ten was confirmed last Sunday at the Indherred church.  Their names are:  Cora Tessem, Ellen Troen, Paula Svenson, Gina Dyrstad, Minnie Moe, Helen Ranum, Sverry Rosten, Julius Finstad, Ingolf Aal and Walter Hatling.  The attendance was very large.  An offering for the home mission was taken up which amounted to $70.
