Fishing report
Ryan Amundson with super walleye:: photo by Kurt Amundson
The walleye bite on Lake Minnewaska has slowed down. Some smaller walleyes are being caught in 14-18 feet of water in the evening with an occasional walleye caught in the early morning. A few die-hards are catching nicer walleyes well after dark in deeper water 20-26 feet near the high school bar. Perch are rare, but a few nice ones are being caught, sunfish are biting on the Starbuck and Glenwood end of the lakes in 9-15 feet. The report on Lake Reno is a mix of walleyes and some nice crappies. The lake has plenty of snow and some slush, so be careful. Look for Reno to pick up in February as the weather gets warmer. A few panfish are being caught on Lake Mary, Pocket and Maple Lake. Maple Lake is a very good lake for nice crappies as the weather warms up in the spring. Kurt Amundson |
